SPRING TEAM 2007

Our team of 11 arrived safely in Guatemala City on Wednesday, May 09, 2007. Although we were missing our 23 pieces of luggage and were 3 hours late, everyone was excited with antipication of what this country held in store for them. 8 of the team members had the privilege of riding in the back of the Casa Angelina truck.

Thursday was spent cashing our US $ for Quetzales. We had a great 3 hour tour of Antigua, visiting many of the ruins, the jade factory and Casa Santo Domingo, a monastary that is now a ruin.

Friday we worked at the Casa Angelina Orphanage. Because the rainy season had not started it was very dusty. Everyone had a job assigned and the work began. The team was impressed with the beauty of the surroundings and the construction of the orphanage. We received our luggage on Thursday evening so we unpacked all the generous donations that we had been given. The following Monday to Friday we worked at Casa Angelina with sod, planting the flower bed at the medical clinic and working in the clinic. There was time for crafts and just having fun with the children. The Friday party was a highlight for the children as well as the team.
