CELIA'S EXTREME MAKEOVER....MOVE THAT HORSE

Philip thanking the national workers for accepting us to work with them.
Bless you!

The ribbon is cut and the extreme makeover is complete!

Celia's family ready to cut the ribbon...
The man with the red hat is the contractor.

Celia's friends come to see her new home...

The team awaits the ribbon cutting...

The Village council comes for the grand opening..

The bio sand water filter and the pila (the place to wash clothes)

The kitchen...a wood stove that is vented outside
no more breathing that toxic smoke.

The master bedroom...

The new bedroom for the kids, three bunk beds and shelving units...

The finishing touches are being added, Julio is
putting up the eaves.
The house in the front is the kitchen,
the metal clad building is the washroom, and the upper part is
the two bedrooms.

The bio sand water filter arrives...it came as far as it could
on a bob cat...it weighs about 400 lbs!
Then it was put on a dolly and pulled up the hill....

Philip is asking Randy if he would give him some Quetzal
so that he has an incentive to
climb the rest of the hill....

Could someone get us a tuktuk????

"Moses" keep your hands up so that we all will have more energy!!!

Wow...if we had known this before we came....well....

Union meeting....

Time to start digging the new foundation...

Celia and her family infront of her home...

and up......

And the road only leads up......

Jake was going to show us how it was done....

Karli starts carrying bricks up the steep 1 km trail...

We had asked Yui if there was someone in the Village of Tuluche' that needed some renovationsdone on their home. The Village Council met and then went door to door assessing the needs of the community. Celia was picked as the most needy. She is a widow with 8 children, 7 living with her, 14 years to several months old.
They live in a house made of bamboo and corn stalks.
They sleep on a dirt floor with a lot of ventilation coming through the ceiling, the door and the walls. She was very nervous when we came as her parents and neighbors told her that we were only there to steal her children. Our daughter, Kerry, assured her that none of us wanted to steal her children. the village council also assured her that we were there only build. And so our extreme makeover began......

SURPRISE, THIS IS FOR YOU.......

We wanted to suprise one of the construction workers by supplying him with enough bricks, cement, re-bar, windows and doors to complete his house. Philip had asked him if he could come and see a ladies house in Santa Tomas. He came along and on the way Philip asked him if we could all see his house. While he was showing us the house the guys were unloading a load of cement, and putting it in his livingroom....I am sure he was wondering why. Then the re-bar was unloaded in the back yard....

When everyone was in his yard, Philip told him that our team just wanted to bless him and his wife with enough supplies to complete his house. Then the tears came....he could not believe what he was hearing.....

He told us the next night that he could not sleep ...he was visualizing his completed house!
He said that God was just blessing him everyday.

MEDICAL CLINIC, HAIRCUTS AND MORE

Just meeting and loving the people of Tuluche'.

This is a pastor couple in Tuluche.
Their congregation cannot afford to pay them so they have a bakery
....notice the large clay oven.
This oven holds 30 pans of pan.

Painting 150 frames
Boys and their toys.....Philip is having fun
We cleaned up the volcanic rock in the entrance
6 payloader buckets of rock...then we dug up the dirt
and planted some flowers.
Added to this was a broken clay pot....the children come
to Casa Angelina as broken pots that God can mould into His image.

Haircut anyone???

Staff also enjoyed some pampering

Carrie encouraged the older girls at Casa Angelina by
giving them a manicure

They came and waited...they have so much patience.

Clay, our translator for the clinic records
